Artist Statement: Caleb Whitbeck has done a lot of things in his life, but his one enduring love and passion is to be near the water. He moved to be near it, to sail on it, and to paint it. "There are a lot of things easier to paint", he says, "but the sea and ships have a majesty and a beauty all their own". Whitbeck captures the magic that is only found in the awesome power and beauty of the sea. "I love it", he says, "so I paint it and I'm part of it".
